Following his NY and Milan street-marketing murals, the #GucciGram project campaign and his illustrations for the Gucci Cruise 2018 among many other prolific projects, Gucci have commissioned the Barcelona-born but London-based artist Ignasi Monreal for their latest ad campaign.
Monreal has developed visuals inspired by the Gucci visual language mixed with iconic pieces including glam human-leopards, flying cats, Italian Renaissance sculptures, Berlin-inspired hipster characters, phantasmagoric forests etc. all featuring products such as dresses, bags, shoes, sweaters, socks in vibrant colours to “Guccify” audiences.
It’s successfully renewing the genre while at the same time recycling the Gucci galaxy identity, which remains stronger than ever. “Record first-quarter sales at Gucci owner Kering have sent the French luxury group’s shares up more than 11 per cent” announced the Financial Times in April this year.
