Nathaniel Mary Quinn creates cover for the Stones’ new album

Nathaniel Mary Quinn has been commissioned to create the cover artwork for the Rolling Stones’ latest studio album, Foreign Tongues, which came out this week, through Polydor/Universal Music. For the cover, Quinn created Stones Trinity (2025), a striking collage-like composite portrait of the legendary band rendered in soft pastel. Blending fragmented forms and a Surrealist sensibility, the work moves beyond traditional portraiture to capture the band’s enduring creative energy and the transformative power of art.

Reflecting on the collaboration, Quinn described the project as “an artistic honour, a dialogue with one of the most enduring forces in cultural history.” The fourteen-track album will be introduced by the vibrant lead single “In the Stars,” released digitally on May 5, alongside the opening track “Rough and Twisted.”

Foreign Tongues captures the unmistakable Rolling Stones sound fans know and love, a timeless blend of blues, country, rock, and the band’s signature songwriting. Available now in a range of bespoke formats, including coloured vinyl editions with exclusive covers, deluxe box sets, standard CDs, and even a cassette release, the album offers collectors the opportunity to experience and complete their collection with a variety of unique editions.
