McQueen rejoins London Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2027

After years of showing primarily in Paris, McQueen is returning to its birthplace. The British fashion house has announced that its Spring/Summer 2027 collection will be presented during London Fashion Week on Sunday, 20 September, marking a significant homecoming for one of Britain’s most influential luxury brands.

The show will also be a milestone for Creative Director Seán McGirr, who will present his first runway collection in London since taking the helm of the house. Featuring both womenswear and menswear, the collection will continue McGirr’s evolving exploration of McQueen’s defining codes, from razor-sharp tailoring to the dramatic occasionwear that has long distinguished the label.

For McGirr, the decision to return is as much about the city as it is about the brand itself. “London has always been at the heart of McQueen,” he says. “There’s a uniquely visceral energy to the city that runs throughout the house’s history and continues to inspire everything we do today. Returning to London Fashion Week allows us to deeply engage with that spirit and the creative community that defines both London and this house.”

Founded by Lee Alexander McQueen in London in 1992, the house emerged from the city’s fiercely independent fashion scene before becoming one of the defining voices of contemporary luxury. Its theatrical runway presentations, uncompromising craftsmanship and distinctly British sensibility transformed the global fashion landscape while cementing London’s reputation as a centre for radical creativity.

The return to London Fashion Week therefore carries symbolic weight beyond the seasonal calendar. Gianfranco D’Attis, CEO of McQueen, describes it as “a meaningful moment for the house,” reaffirming London’s central place in the brand’s identity while strengthening its relationship with the British Fashion Council and the city’s creative community.

More than three decades after Lee Alexander McQueen established his label in East London, the house’s decision to stage its latest collection where its story began feels both symbolic and timely. At a moment when London Fashion Week continues to redefine its place on the international calendar, the return of one of its most celebrated names reinforces the city’s enduring role as a laboratory for fashion that is intellectually rigorous, emotionally charged and culturally influential.
