Burberry reimagines Summer

Burberry built its reputation on weatherproof gabardine, timeless trench coats and the comforting familiarity of its House Check, more closely associated with London rain than Mediterranean sunshine. Under the direction of Daniel Lee, however, Burberry is embracing a new kind of seasonal luxury, taking over some of the world’s most desirable hotels with immersive experiences that bring its unmistakable British identity to the height of summer. So chic!

This season, the brand unveils three destination partnerships spanning Bangkok, the Athenian and the French Riviera. Each transforms an iconic property through bespoke colourways of the House Check, exclusive retail experiences and carefully staged programming that celebrates local culture while remaining unmistakably Burberry.

The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon

Perched high above the Thai capital, Burberry’s takeover of The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon brings a distinctly playful energy to one of Bangkok’s most recognisable architectural landmarks. For the occasion, the House has been reinvented in a vibrant yellow that radiates throughout the hotel, from rooftop pool cabanas and loungers to a bespoke photo booth in The Parlor, the property’s lively social hub.

The brand has also incorporated Bangkok’s official colour, green, into the visual identity of the collaboration, pairing it with a programme of wellness experiences and seasonal dining. Guests can spend afternoons beside the rooftop pool enjoying a specially curated menu and ice lollies served from a custom Burberry cart while overlooking the city skyline.

The experience extends beyond the hotel itself. The collaboration launched with an exclusive celebration featuring local creatives, while guests explored Bangkok aboard Burberry Check tuk-tuks. Inside the hotel’s boutique, visitors can discover pieces from the High Summer and Summer 2026 collections, making it easy to step straight into the season’s wardrobe. The collab will be running until 31st July 2026.

One&Only Aesthesis, Athens, Greece

On the shores of the Aegean, Burberry has transformed the idyllic One&Only Aesthesis into an elegant Mediterranean retreat. Nestled within a protected forest reserve, the resort evokes the glamour of the 1960s, providing an ideal setting for Burberry’s latest summer expression.

Here, the House Check has been reimagined in luminous turquoise, echoing the crystalline waters of the Athenian Riviera. The bespoke pattern flows across the resort’s pools, gardens, tennis and padel courts, creating a seamless dialogue between British heritage and Greek coastal elegance.

Guests can explore the estate aboard custom Burberry bicycles and buggies or charter a branded boat to discover the surrounding coastline. Before arrival, those booking a stay are invited to private styling appointments at their local Burberry boutique.

On-site, the resort boutique offers the High Summer 2026 collection, including lightweight polos, swimwear and the standout Margate bag, hand-crocheted in raffia using Burberry’s signature check. It’s running until 31 October 2026.

Hôtel Belles Rives, Antibes, France

The final destination takes Burberry to one of the Riviera’s most important addresses. Overlooking the Mediterranean in Antibes, Hôtel Belles Rives is inseparable from the legacy of F. Scott Fitzgerald, who once lived at the property while writing Tender Is the Nigh, a novel in which its protagonist famously wears a Burberry coat. Antibes is also known for its Picasso Museum hosting Nicolas de Stael’s vibrant paintings too.

For this Art Deco landmark, Burberry has traded its classic beige for an elegant navy interpretation of the brand, reflecting both the hotel’s historic interiors and the deep blue of the Mediterranean beyond. The custom pattern appears throughout the property, from the private jetty and beach club loungers to terrace deckchairs and even the hotel’s original 1920s lift.

The experience celebrates the Riviera’s golden age with a contemporary twist. Guests can take part in Burberry-branded waterskiing sessions in the bay before cooling off with branded ice pops served on the terrace. As evening falls, cocktails at the legendary Fitzgerald Bar offer the perfect conclusion to a day spent immersed in Burberry’s High Summer collection, where relaxed tailoring and nautical influences capture the enduring appeal of seaside sophistication. Running until 30 September 2026.

Together, the three takeovers demonstrate how Daniel Lee continues to expand Burberry’s world beyond fashion, transforming hospitality into an immersive expression of the house’s identity. Whether overlooking Bangkok’s skyline, the Aegean Sea or the Côte d’Azur, Burberry’s unmistakable check proves that British heritage feels entirely at home under the summer sun.
