Ursula Ott plays with size and colour in her artworks, to instil ideas of meditation, and spirituality. Her exhibition at Weiss Berlin runs until 28 July. Her work is also on display in the Düsseldorf Kai 10 / Arthena Foundation in the exhibition titled “Catching the Light.”
Works by Adolf Luther, Michelangelo Pistoletto, and Gerhard Richter – with whom Ott became a master student in 1990 and references in her oeuvre – have often featured glass and mirrors. Here, Ott’s mirrored gold or blue glass panes reflect the changing occurrences of light and colour during the changing days and seasons. These works demonstrate the potential for change and continue to explore the possibility of light in a very poetic manner.
