Portrait hotographer Richard Corman took pictures of Madonna Louise Ciccone in her Lower East Side flat a month before the release of her first album in 1983. In May 1983, Corman, then 29, had just finished a two-year apprenticeship with photographer Richard Avedon. His mum, casting director on the Martin Scorsese film The Last Temptation of Christ at the time, advised him to shoot the blossoming star. Sixty-six never before seen Polaroids of the icon have now been brought together in a new book by Corman. Only 500 copies of the most limited edition will be available.
