True to its heritage, Louis Vuitton places art at the heart of their strategy, collections and stores around the world. Remember the fantastic collaborations with Richard Prince and Takashi Murakami under Marc Jacobs? The recently re-opened Louis Vuitton store in London demonstrates this ethos again. It features large-scale artworks by James Turrell, Annie Morris and many more blue-chip artists.
To upgrade the facade of its headquarters in Paris, Louis Vuitton commissioned artist Steven Burke aka Luckylefthand. It was unveiled today. “With this mural, I wanted to offer a colourful stroll to Parisians. […] I hope I have managed to spread the positive energy that we all need right now, ”said Luckylefthand of his work.
Luggage, bags and accessories reflect this close collaboration with artists, who, like Daniel Buren in 2013 or architect Frank Gehry in March 2020, constantly reinvented the spirit of the most famous French Maison. With this fresco titled “New colors, nine eyes and nine hearts”, Louis Vuitton reaffirms its close relationship with contemporary art.
