Tate Create: things to make and do by artists

Tate Create Things to make and do by artists is a fantastic book that helps kids and adults cook, draw, snap and call on their creative sides thanks to techniques experimented and developed by world-renowned artists. Each activity draws on the artist’s own practice and is supported by guidance and advice from the artists themselves.

Created by Sally Tallant, The Queens Museum in New York director and former director of the Liverpool Biennial, with a selection of the world’s leading contemporary artists, this creative book provides projects and activities designed to challenge and expand the approach to making art and be creative.

Recipes by Olafur Eliasson and listen to how they sound; meditative drawings that show the power of repetition with Yayoi Kusama; a living collage with Linder; or classic puzzle activities turned on their heads by Jeremy Deller, Yto Barrada’s collage are some of the ‘recipes’ given by these artists in this elaborate book.
