Jacquemus’ Spring / Summer collection, staged earlier this week at the Picasso Museum in Paris during Paris Fashion Week, was safe yet sexy. Inspired by the designer’s mother (again) and titled La Bomba to describe ‘hot’ Mediterranean girls, the tones were pale, ochre, grey and white and the volumes close to the body yet sometimes bouffant, the designer’s signature landmark. The South of France, Matisse, and the Nouvelle Vague remain some of Jacquemus’ main inspirations and the style and silhouettes reflected that. Tiny handbags appeared on the catwalk this season. Pierre Cardin and Fanny Ardant were amongst the main guests of the show.
