Emotional Archaeology, the most comprehensive exhibition of Daphne Wright’s work in the UK to date, features fantastic off-white sculptures of egg cartons and animal bodies alongside films, prints, drawings and newly produced works, all of which invite the viewer to approach them on an emotional level.

Often working from her studio at home in Bristol, her practice draws on the suburban and the domestic realm to investigate intimate and domestic issues such as ageing, care and human’s rapport with animals. Juxtaposing beauty and horror, Wright’s oeuvre combines personal perceptions and political issues in dark, detailed white structures that resonate with human emotions.
