At the age of 91, Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama continues to be prolific. The latest incarnation of her polka dots obsession is a special collaboration with Veuve Clicquot.
The artist had applied her style to a portrait of Madame Clicquot for an auction held in Tokyo in 2006. The partnership continues today with the design of La Grande Dame 2012 bottle and gift box, along with a limited-edition magnum.
Kusama is no stranger to commercial collaborations and this design follows campaigns for Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton in 2012 and Lancome in 2011.
A vibrant tribute to “La Grande Dame” of Champagne, the Veuve Clicquot artwork required over 250 hours to craft.
Editioned at 100 and digitally-signed by the artist, La Grande Dame and its vibrant dynamic alien flower artwork is priced at €30,000.
