SAINT LAURENT RIVE DROITE is a creative and cultural space curated by Anthony Vaccarello, located at 213, rue saint Honoré Paris, with an extension at 469 Rodeo Drive, Los Angeles.
For the most recent incarnation of this cultural platform, Anthony Vaccarello turned to iconic fashion-designer and artist Helmut Lang, whose conversations with artists Louise Bourgeois and Jenny Holzer, led to history-changing creative collaborations. “Helmut Lang’s language remains the ultimate embodiment of minimalism, modernity and restrained opulence. His unique ability to turn items, either raw or discarded, into art, made him the perfect partner for this project.” Vaccarello said.
In a spectacular effort, Saint Laurent’s artistic director commissioned Lang to turn unfinished clothing, accessory prototypes, garments and jewels into artworks. The resulting pigmented resin and aluminum molded sculptures will be displayed at Rive Droite, first in Paris, then in Los Angeles.
Both concerned with current pressing issues of sustainability, ecology and the heavy responsibility of fashion houses in the destruction of the planet, Vaccarello found the perfect creative partner.
