Man Ray and fashion, at Musée du Luxembourg

Looking at Man Ray’s foray into fashion and his work with Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue and Vanity Fair, the exhibition presented at Musée du Luxembourg from 9 April until 26 July 2020, showcases Ray’s trajectory, techniques and experimentations in fashion photography staging models such as partner and artist in her own right Lee Miller. Ray worked with Chanel, Patou, Lanvin, Schiaparelli, and Poiret whom he met quickly when he moved to Paris in the 1920s. Poiret introduced Ray to Paris fashion microcosm. By applying the techniques he used for his artistic work, Man Ray considerably contributed to  enriching the process of fashion photography.
