Anne Imhof at Tate Modern

For the first time, Anne Imhof, German thought-provoking 2017 Venice Biennale Golden Lion winner, will take over The Tanks, Tate Modern’s performance-dedicated spaces from 22 to 31 March 2019.

Following previous visceral projects Angst in 2016 and Faust in 2017, Sex is the artist’s new movement-imbued exhibition which will comprise installations of sculptures, constructed pieces and paintings during the day juxtaposed with performances at night. For ten days and five nights, performers will take over the Tanks with live choreographed acts which mix various creative disciplines from music to drawing.

Sex is the first of three chapters in a project commissioned by Tate Modern, London, the Art Institute of Chicago, and Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, Rivoli-Turin.
