TITIAN AND THE RENAISSANCE IN VENICE
From 13th February, The Städel Museum will celebrate both Venice and the Renaissance with a remarkable exhibition bringing together more than a hundred masterpieces, including more than twenty by Titian alone.
Drawings by Giovanni Bellini, Jacopo Palma il Vecchio, Lorenzo Lotto, Jacopo Bassano, and Paolo Veronese will also be featured in the exhibition.
Themes of landscape depictions, the importance of colour and the female figure will all be examined through this incredible range of works. The thematically-oriented show will offer extensive understanding of 16th century Italia n art. Apart from Titian’s “Portrait of a Young Man” (ca. 1510) which is owned by the museum– the show will showcase an impressive selection of artworks from more than sixty German and international museums. A real tour de force.
