Vans celebrates Van Gogh
Vans and the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, have joined forces to present an exclusive collection which launched on Friday last week. The Van Gogh Museum will dedicate a portion of its profits from this project to the preservation of Vincent van Gogh’s legacy and collection of art, keeping it accessible for future generations, a remarkable initiative. That’s a pioneering marketing collaboration between one of the most famous artists and the celebrated skaters’ brand.
“People from all over the world really love Van Gogh and want a piece of him, as it were. We’re always looking to find new ways [to] make his work [feel] relevant today.” Axel Rüger, Director of the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam who was interviewed by Art is Alive a few months ago said about the partnership.
Vans worked closely with the Van Gogh Museum team to select iconic Van Gogh drawings and paintings to illustrate shoes, jackets, t-shirts and sweaters. Skull, Almond Blossom, Sunflowers and Van Gogh’s self-portrait are some of the Dutch artist’s works that have been selected amongst more than 2,000 pieces for this fantastic collaboration. The collection is available online and at the Van Gogh Museum store.
