Last night, the Marguerite and Aimé Maeght Foundation hosted the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2019 show. Models showed futuristic looks and wandered around Giacometti and Miró’s artworks displayed in the exterior terrace and gardens of the Saint-Paul-de-Vence-based spectacular art space.
The Fondation Maeght with its unique garden of sculptures by luminaries including Joan Miró, Alexander Calder, Anthony Caro and Barbara Hepworth, was the perfect location to unveil Nicolas Ghesquière’s latest collection. “I also wanted to pay homage to this place, which for me is the genesis of (all the other) art foundations. It is a love story between a family, artists and architecture,” he said.
The Louis Vuitton Foundation opened its own art gallery designed by Frank Gehry in the Bois de Boulogne on the edge of Paris in 2014.
