Givenchy draws from Berlin and Film noir for stunning collection
“The collection is loosely based on the nightlife of Berlin in the early 1980s,” the recently-appointed creative director of Givenchy Claire Waight Keller said about the inspiration behind her stunning second collection presented last Saturday in Paris. Aubergine, navy blue, gold, black and white were the dominating colours of the first-ever female creative director of the LVMH-owned house Givenchy for this new season. “I had this image of them as film noir outlaws, a certain sense of grit and glamour and an element of sleaze.” she continued. Hunger and David Bowie were also not so far away as the brilliant collection mixed menswear and womenswear.
