New Pleasure at Simon Lee

Simon Lee presents New Pleasure, an exhibition which examines the convergence of punk and art with urban decay and political neglect due to financial uncertainty and degradation of living conditions. The show runs until 23 December 2017 at 26 East 64th Street in NY.

The artists on view include George Condo, Alan Vega, Christopher Wool, Richard Prince and Kim Gordon among others. New Pleasure investigates how visual artists have ventured into music and championed punk rock through interdisciplinary experimentation.

Focusing on the legacy of some of history’s most iconic artists, Dalwood’s paintings are the result of factual evidence and collective imagination. In New Pleasure Dalwood presents Second Set (2016), a painting echoing the aesthetics of Lou Reed’s Transformer.
