“I decided not to make a big event of it. I just thought about going back to the essence of a show—models, lights, chairs.” Dries van Noten said about the 30th anniversary of his brand which also meant his 100th fashion show presented during Paris Fashion Week earlier this week.
For its 50th show in 2004, Dries Van Noten had organized a dinner in a giant disused Pratt & Whitney factory, located in the North of Paris for 300 guests – each with their own designated waiter. To celebrate his 100th catwalk, van Noten has invited super models from Paris, New York and Los Angeles who had worked with him in the past. These included Nadja Auermann, Carolyn Murphy, Liya Kebede, Alek Wek and Erin O’Connor. Amber Valletta, also present used to be Helmut Lang’s muse. “I am so honoured to be in the 100th show. Who would not be ?” Amber Valletta said. Dries van Noten also resurrected archival materials and prints in the stunning collection.
