Schiaparelli’s current creative director Bertrand Guyon resurrected the Lobster Dress for the Spring ’17 collection. A 21st century version of the iconic lobster-embroidered crepe gown originally designed by Elsa Schiaparelli with Salvador Dalí in 1937 and worn by Wallis Simpson resurfaced at the Paris presentation last week.  Guyon explained that it took six people 250 hours to complete the dress. “This dress has a very pure silhouette, but has a technically difficult, intricate interior.”.
