On Thursday, last week, Louis Vuitton unveiled its exclusive collaboration with NY street wear brand Supreme. Teased for a long time on social media, it remained one of this season’s most secretive projects.
Revealed during Men’s fall / winter fashion week in Paris, the collection features sneakers, bags, gloves, belts, purses, baseball bats, bandanas and more accessories reinterpreting the iconic logos of each brand. This collection is likely to be sold in two seconds.
“I was inspired by the late 1970s and early 1980s’ New York and the fashionable artists of the time, including Jean-Michel Basquiat. Adapted to today’s, I quickly came to the conclusion that only Supreme encapsulated this inspiration and era. We have much to learn from this success story. And vice versa” said Kim Jones, designer of the Men’s lines at LV who suggested this collaboration. He hopes that this collection “will be a milestone in the history of Louis Vuitton as those initiated at the time of Marc Jacobs with the late Stephen Sprouse, Takashi Murakami and Richard Prince”.
