Wayne McGregor celebrated his tenth anniversary as Resident Choreographer with The Royal Ballet with the world premiere of Multiverse, a new collaboration with celebrated composer Steve Reich, on 10 November at the Royal Opera House. Multiverse was performed as part of a McGregor triple bill with Chroma, featuring dancers from the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater Company and Carbon Life, featuring a vibrant pop soundtrack by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt.
The celebration also highlighted Wayne’s role in nurturing the next generation of choreographers. The Royal Opera House commissioned a mixed programme of new work by Charlotte Edmonds and Robert Binet, each of whom has been mentored by Wayne. This was performed at the Clore Studio Upstairs before each evening performance.
