For her first menswear collection ever, Stella McCartney drew inspiration from her dad Paul and the band he played in: the Beatles. “It just felt like the right time, it felt like the womenswear was really in the perfect place to then have her man in her life and just to offer that wardrobe to men,” McCartney told Reuters.

Launching both casual and tailored  lines on Thursday night alongside her women’s Spring 2017 resort collection, the British designer – who recently designed team GB’s suits for the Rio de Janeiro Olympics – used the Abbey Road music studios where the Beatles recorded in the 1960s, as the venue for the showcase. Guitars and rock’n’roll archiving materials provided the right setting for the presentation of the collections.

Next Monday, Stella McCartney will be in conversation with Journalist Lucy Siegle discussing  sustainability efforts within the luxury sector at The London College of Fashion Kering Talk.
