Unveiled in late July, the Stella McCartney Autumn campaign features model, actress and environmentalist Amber Valetta in Ed Ruscha’s trademark visuals highlighting superimposed white letters – Ed Ruscha’s signature style.
#Stellacares, the new ethically-minded collection, is promoted through a series of images showing Ruscha’s classic typography normally associated with his paintings. “Veg Out” and “Meat Free” illustrate the strong images.
“The collaboration with Ed Ruscha is a natural progression of Stella’s long standing personal friendship with one of the most iconic American artists of the 20th century who has pioneered the deceptively simple intersection of text and image by superimposing elliptical phrases over landscapes to create paintings,” wrote a statement accompanying the images, which were shot by Harley Weir.
