Kristof Buntinx, Rome – Make Love, Not War

‘Make love, not war!’: this new collection, a collaboration between Kristof Buntix and RJ Bodywear, is centred around love. The title of the collection refers to the expression ‘Make love, not war!’, which dates back to the 1970s and the Vietnam War era.

The shorts and tops feature six different floral and plant motifs, based on symbols and connotations: white tulips are a universally-recognised symbol of forgiveness; ivy is a sign of eternal loyalty; lavender is a symbol of devotion; red carnations refer to the Portuguese Revolution where the population peacefully took to the streets to celebrate the end of the military dictatorship; red roses are generally considered to be a sign of true love; and lastly the proverbial forget-me-nots.
