The Paris address will take over the 5 Avenue Marceau atelier where Yves Saint Laurent created his most iconic pieces from 1974 to 2002, and which houses La Fondation Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent since 2004. In April 2016, the Fondation will close its doors to allow for renovations in preparation of the upcoming project. Stage designer Nathalie Crinière and chief Yves Saint Laurent set designer Jacques Grange have been commission to recreate the original atmosphere of the fashion house, which will host the design studio as well as the haute couture salons. At the same time, thousands of kilometers away, a second museum is planned for the Rue Yves Saint Laurent in Marrakesh, near to Jardin Majorelle which the designer and Pierre Bergé saved from becoming a hotel development in 1980 and transformed into a flourishing attraction for locals and tourists alike.
