John Currin’s portrait of Jennifer Lawrence for Vogue US

John Currin’s portrait of movie star Jennifer Lawrence graces the September issue of US Vogue magazine. The work was specifically commissioned for the 125th anniversary issue and Currin follows a long-term tradition of collaborating with painters and contemporary artists. In the past, artworks by Salvador Dalí and Andy Warhol also served as covers of the magazine. On this historical issue, Lawrence is depicted wearing a Miu Miu patterned fur hat and holding a green purse.
