Alexander Calder’s 1956 monumental mobile Red Lily Pads will head back to the NY Guggenheim Museum ahead its installation for the exhibition celebrating the Guggenheim foundation’s 80th anniversary, Visionaries: Creating the Modern Guggenheim (10 February – 6 September). Visionaries: Creating a Modern Guggenheim will explore not only avant-garde innovations from the late 19th through mid-20th centuries, but also the radical activities of six patrons who brought to light some of the most significant artists of their day.
