This February, Paul McCartney’s remarkable journey after The Beatles comes to cinemas in Paul McCartney: Man on the Run, a new documentary directed by Oscar, Emmy, and Grammy-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville. For one night only, on Thursday 19th February 2026, Trafalgar Releasing will bring the film to select cinemas worldwide, with tickets on sale from Wednesday 4th February at manontherun.film. Each screening will include a special conversation between McCartney and Neville, offering an intimate glimpse into his life and work.
The film explores McCartney’s creative reinvention in the 1970s, following the breakup of The Beatles and the rise of his new band, Wings. Using archival footage, Linda McCartney’s photographs, and interviews with Paul, his family, former Wings members, and fellow musicians including Mick Jagger and Chrissie Hynde, the documentary captures a decade of transformation, vulnerability, and extraordinary creativity. From the release of his first solo album McCartney in 1970 to the heights of Wings’ success, Neville paints a portrait of an artist unafraid to grow, experiment, and redefine himself.
The release coincides with a broader celebration of McCartney’s Wings era. 2025 saw the publication of Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run, an oral history of the group, alongside the WINGS self-titled anthology and a special 50th-anniversary edition of Venus and Mars, now remixed in Dolby Atmos. McCartney also continued to tour globally, bringing his music to new audiences across North America. Produced by Tremolo in association with MPL Communications and Polygram Entertainment, the documentary will be available on Prime Video from 27th February, reaching fans in over 240 countries.
Born in Liverpool in 1942, McCartney has been a defining force in music for decades, from The Beatles to Wings and his solo work. With 18 Grammys, a knighthood, and countless international accolades, he remains a singular figure in contemporary culture, known as much for his live performances as for his songwriting.
In Man on the Run, Neville offers a deeply human perspective on an artist whose influence continues to resonate, celebrating a man who left one band behind only to create something entirely new, and timeless. We can’t wait to see it!
