PJ Harvey’s new album and book

PJ Harvey is back in creative motion. The singer-songwriter and cultural icon has revealed she is writing songs for a new album and poems for a forthcoming book, calling the process “one that always surprises and challenges me, but one I realise I am committed to and love.”. She is known for her fearless, genre-defying work, from raw, visceral rock albums to haunting, intimate recordings.

Last year, Harvey composed the original music for Tony Award-winning director Tom Morris’s stage adaptation of Othello, which stars David Harewood, Toby Jones, and Caitlin FitzGerald at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London. The production runs until 17 January 2026, with Harvey’s score underscoring Shakespeare’s psychological thriller, exploring jealousy, manipulation, and the destructive intensity of love.

She also shared a New Year playlist of tracks that inspired her in 2025, ranging from Tim Hecker to Robbie Basho and Laura Cannell, alongside her contributions to the Los Angeles Rising wildfire relief album. Harvey’s 2023 release, I Inside the Old Year Dying, continues to be celebrated for its immersive lyricism and emotional depth.
