Peter Schlesinger at Acne Paper Palais Royal

The dialogue between American author and artist Peter Schlesinger (friends of Andy Warhol and David Hockney) and Acne Studios has been unfolding for years, a friendship built on shared sensibilities: craftsmanship, and sensuality. This autumn, their relationship takes shape anew at Acne Paper’s boutique in the Palais Royal, where the Swedish label presents a delicate constellation of Schlesinger’s ceramic sculptures. The show coincides with Art Basel Paris.

Comprising eight works created between 2013 and 2019, the exhibition traces the artist’s enduring fascination with the human figure and the natural world. In Schlesinger’s hands, glazed stoneware becomes a living material: tactile, meditative, and charged with a quiet symbolism. His sculptures evoke bodies, and organic forms that feel both ancient and contemporary.

The presentation also marks a milestone: ten years since Peter Schlesinger: Sculpture, the artist’s 2015 New York exhibition and accompanying monograph. To celebrate, Acne Paper releases a new edition of the book, enriched with recent works and a previously unpublished essay by Pulitzer Prize–winning writer Mark Stevens.

Housed within the serene interiors of Acne Paper Palais Royal, at 124 Galerie de Valois in the heart of Paris, the exhibition invites visitors into an atmosphere of contemplation and intimacy. Open from 23 October to 14 December, 2025, admission is free.
