Unfiltered, tender, and defiantly honest, Juergen Teller has long dissolved the borders between fashion, art, and life. From October 19 to December 30, Onassis Stegi presents you are invited at Onassis Ready, the Onassis Foundation’s new cultural space in Athens.
Spanning portraits of Iggy Pop, and Kate Moss, intimate family scenes, and sharp, wry still-lifes, the exhibition moves between past and present, tracing Teller’s renewed style. Recent works, his photographs of Pope Francis in a women’s prison and collaborations with his wife Dovile Drizyte, reveal an artist navigating the fragile edge between the personal and the political, the sacred and the absurd.
“This is where it begins,” says Afroditi Panagiotakou, Artistic Director of the Onassis Foundation. “Onassis Ready opens with an artist who resets the rules, where emotion meets resistance, where stories breathe.”
Located in a restored factory in Athens’s industrial zone, Onassis Ready launches as a space for experimentation and dialogue between art and technology, home to the Athens hub of Onassis ONX.
