Silvia Venturini Fendi Named Honorary President of the Roman Maison

Fendi begins a new chapter. As of October 1, Silvia Venturini Fendi assumes the role of Honorary President of the storied Roman Maison,m a natural evolution following decades of creative stewardship that have shaped the house’s modern identity.

The announcement comes after her celebrated tenure overseeing Fendi’s womenswear collections, including the Maison’s centenary year, a milestone that intertwined legacy with reinvention. In her new position, Silvia will continue to embody and champion the values that define Fendi: its Roman heritage, artisanal savoir-faire, and enduring dialogue between fashion, design, and the world of Fendi Casa.

A third-generation heir to the Fendi legacy, Silvia joined the family business in 1992, working alongside Karl Lagerfeld within the brand’s artistic direction. Over the years, she has designed men’s and women’s collections and created some of the house’s most iconic accessories, including the Baguette, a cultural phenomenon in its own right.

“These have been exhilarating years,” she reflects, “lived also in the name of my grandmother Adele, my mother Anna, and her sisters. My thoughts go to Karl, an extraordinary master who taught me the art of sharing, a defining value in the female-led history of my family, and encouraged me to nurture my creative vision. This has been not only a professional journey but a deeply personal one, with Karl, then Kim Jones, and my incredible team, who have become like family.”

Ramon Ros, Fendi’s Chairman and CEO, adds: “Since 1992, Silvia has profoundly shaped Fendi’s creative direction and global success. Her vision has guided the Maison from its Roman roots into the future. I am thrilled to see how she will continue to expand Fendi’s legacy and influence in her new role.”

A new creative structure for the Maison will be unveiled in due course, but one thing is certain: Silvia Venturini Fendi’s hand will continue to guide the house she has helped define, where history and innovation still walk side by side, made in Rome.
