Lee Ufan’s work exists in the space between gesture, time, and silence. In his paintings and sculptures, minimal forms hover against white expanses. Lee Ufan’s work is about emotions and perception.
A new exhibition of his work is currently on view in Paris at both Mennour locations. From 3 October to 22 November 2025, the galleries at 6 Rue du Pont de Lodi present an intimate selection of paintings and watercolours. From 20 October to 22 November 2025, the space at 28 Avenue Matignon continues the exploration, offering visitors a chance to experience his sculptures and site-specific relational works in dialogue with the city.
“There is the time of the artist,” Lee Ufan has said, “and the time of the viewer.” Every stroke records a lived moment; every encounter slows perception, offering a rare pause in the relentless tempo of contemporary life.
Across his Response, Dialogue, and Correspondence series, lines and shapes unfold in rhythm. Each mark, each touch of pigment or placement of stone, carries the weight of time, the hand of the maker.
In his Relatum sculptures, raw materials exist in quiet tension. Steel beams lean against rough stone; simple forms claim presence without domination. The works suggest permanence and impermanence simultaneously, inviting reflection on materiality.
Lee’s paintings and watercolours in this exhibition extend these principles: colour pulses from centre to edge, dissolving into light and shadow, movement and stillness intertwined. The forms converge and disperse, creating a sense of rhythm and flow. Here, time is both compressed and expanded, allowing the viewer a rare pause from the rush of contemporary life.
At Mennour, in Paris, Lee Ufan’s work is experienced: a meditation on form, colour, and space.
