Pedro Almodóvar for Roche Bobois

Who has never dreamt to live and be immersed into Almodóvar’s world? Think about Volver, Tacones Lejanos and Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios. Unveiled during Milan Design Week 2025, Cromática is an extraordinary collaboration between legendary Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar and French design house Roche Bobois. Almodóvar is known for his vibrant palette reflected since the beginning of his career in interiors, stage sets and furniture. This collaboration makes total sense and is the epitome of his style. It’s the collaboration we didn’t know we needed!

This limited-edition furniture collection transforms Almodóvar’s vivid cinematic language into bold, tactile design, merging the worlds of film and interiors. Saturated colours, dramatic contrasts, and emotional resonance define the collection through sofas, cushions, cabinets and more, echoing the visual intensity and narrative depth of Almodóvar’s films.

“I think these are pieces of furniture you can truly live with, and they evoke a very positive feeling,” Mr. Almodóvar wrote in an email to the New York Times. “The colours and patterns I’ve chosen reflect an intense joie de vivre. I believe that waking up and walking on that rug, or sitting on one of these pieces, will give you a sense of optimism.”

More than just furniture, Cromática is a celebration of storytelling through form, function, material and colour—a true meeting of cinematic and design mastery. Salone in Milan was the perfect platform to launch it.

Adding to the collection’s dimension, Rossy de Palma, Almodóvar’s longtime muse and a celebrated artist, has designed an exclusive capsule range of accessories. Her creations include expressive vanity mirrors shaped like eyes, vases inspired by Spanish fans, and lighting elements drawn from the traditional peineta hair comb, all reflecting her bold and theatrical style. Vamos!
