Young Americans celebrates 50 years

Young Americans is David Bowie’s ninth studio album, released on March 7, 1975 and recorded in Philadelphia. This year marks 50 years since it’s release and it remains one of the best albums in history.

It marks a major stylistic departure from his earlier glam rock era, embracing soul, R&B, and funk—a sound Bowie referred to as plastic soul.
