LOEWE presents ‘CRAFTED WORLD’ in Tokyo

LOEWE’s first major brand exhibition, ‘Crafted World’, will soon be presented in Tokyo in Spring 2024.

The exhibition is a celebration of the house’s rich history and Spanish heritage, and is a showcase of LOEWE’s progressive approach to fashion and the culture of craft since its founding as a leather-making collective in Madrid in 1846.

Displaying a series of works and architectural interventions, the exhibition will highlight the house’s collaborations and cultural projects across Japan and beyond, including a video documenting the LOEWE FOUNDATION’s support for the Ōnishi family, who have been crafting ceremonial Kama tea kettles in Kyoto for over 400 years.

Works by LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize finalists Tanabe Chinkuunsai IV, Moe Watanabe and 2019 winner Genta Ishizuka will also be displayed alongside those by artist collaborators from LOEWE’s annual Salone del Mobile showcase, including ARKO, Hafu Matsumoto and Jirō Yonezawa. Steeped in art and culture, ‘Crafted World’ is an exhibition dedicated to the joy of making things by hand, transporting visitors from the sights and sounds of Spain, to the front row of the Paris runway. 30 works have been selected as Finalists by the Experts Panel. These works will take part of the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize 2025 exhibition that will travel to Madrid in Spring 2025.
