Louis Vuitton revives iconic collaboration with Takashi Murakami

Two decades after its legendary collaboration with Takashi Murakami, Louis Vuitton unveils a fascinating re-edition celebrating the vibrant artistry of the acclaimed Japanese creator. Blending heritage with modernity, so inherent to Japanese culture, the collection reimagines Louis Vuitton’s iconic designs with a lively twist, capturing the spirit of Y2K pop culture with renewed energy and charm. The campaign is led by a poppy Zendaya, reimagined in the LV x Murakami wonderland.

Describing the collaboration between Louis Vuitton, the Parisian luxury powerhouse, and Japanese artist, designer Marc Jacobs, then creative director of the brand’s womenswear line, called it “a monumental marriage between art and business.” highlighting the relationships between contemporary art and fashion. Since 2003, Louis Vuitton has collaborated with Richard Prince, Yayoi Kusama, Cindy Sherman, Marc Newson and Jeff Koons.

Last week, Louis Vuitton launched a vibrant pop-up in London’s Soho to commemorate the release of this collection with pieces from the collection on view in the pink-floor to ceiling space.
