Synonymous with craftsmanship and design, dunhill is the foremost British men’s luxury House with a history spanning over 130 years.
Innovation and contemporaneity have always been integral to the House, from its inception in 1893 by Alfred Dunhill to the present day and beyond. This year, it continues its partnership with Frieze Masters to host a series of talks and panel discussions with esteemed curators and artists.
The second instalment of this event will see the Creative Advisor of Frieze Masters, Sheena Wagstaff, and Head of Visual Arts for the Barbican, Shanay Jhaveri, curate the award-winning content programme, following dunhill’s backing to return the talks to the fair last year.
Last year’s programme felt like a celebration of cutting-edge perspectives on art from antiquities and Old Masters to icons of the 20th Century, curated by Dr Nicholas Cullinan, Director of the National Portrait Gallery at the time. The event brought together artists, writers, curators and directors to explore the connections between historical art and contemporary practice. The podcast episodes which emerged from the series of events are fascinating.
Bringing prominent international artists such as Jeremy Deller, Nathalie du Pasquier, and Ming Smith with curators and museum directors and speakers Glenn Lowry, Lou Stoppard, and Zoe Whitley, the series will feature multiple thought-provoking conversations over the five-day of Frieze Week. The talks, centred on the theme “The Creative Mind,” will ask speakers to examine the creative thread that cuts across media, regions, and political ideologies.
