Issey Miyake Homme Plissé with Ronan Bouroullec

The combination of Ronan Bouroullec’s iconic piece “Drawing” with the distinctive pleats of HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE is known as RB_DRAWING PLEATS. The designs use the white spaces in the artworks to form the contours of the garment, exploring the relationships between painting and clothing. The collection recently launched and it’s beautiful.

Born in Quimper, Brittany, Ronan Bouroullec has become one of the leading designers in over 20 years. Among his various design projects, which include furniture, lighting, urban environments, architecture, and installations, is this new series of coats, shirts and ensembles.

Bouroullec draws every day, which serves as inspiration for his designs. These drawings are transcribed as a wide range of materials that can be investigated and experimented with. With significant conversations with the Miyake design team and a thorough grasp of HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE’s collections, Bouroullec has created a collection that embodies a common vision, elaborated during creative sessions. The result is vibrant and truly fantastic.
