Louis Vuitton designs beautiful trunks for the Olympics

Louis Vuitton was commissioned by LVMH to create trunks and trays transporting the Olympic medals and Mathieu Lehanneur’s amazingly designed Olympic Torch. The 500 volunteers who have the honour of delivering the trophies to the athletes are all dressed by the house. The outfit pays homage to the 1924 Paris Olympics by fusing vintage style with a Parisian vibe. These meticulously put together garments, which result from a multi-industry recycling process in France, are a great national pride.

“We are honored and extremely proud to be part of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 with the mission of packing and presenting the defining symbols of Paris 2024: the victors’ medals and the torches of the Olympic flame,” said Pietro Beccaro, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton.

Taking centre stage at this year’s Olympics are Louis Vuitton’s medal trays, which were crafted by the brand’s artisans at its Beaulieu-sur-Layon workshop in the Maine-et-Loire region of France. The trays are sheathed in the Damier canvas, which dates back to 1888, and the interior is lined with the matte-black leather in a nod to the trunks that house the torch and trays.
