Vivienne Westwood’s personal collection presented at Christie’s

Christie’s stages the sale of Vivienne Westwood’s private collection, the revolutionary British fashion designer and campaigner, to benefit the charities she supported during her lifetime: Amnesty International, Greenpeace, Médecins sans Frontieres and The Big Picture, Vivienne’s Playing Cards.

The Vivienne Foundation added: “Vivienne was a style icon throughout her lifetime. Her deep interest in intellectual and political ideas informed her natural skill in fashion design, where she became one of the very few true originators. There will simply never be another Vivienne Westwood.”

Dame Vivienne Westwood founded one of the top fashion businesses in the world and is regarded as one of the most influential designers of all times. Vivienne’s husband, Andreas Kronthaler, the Creative Director of Vivienne Westwood®, has chosen classic ensembles from Vivienne’s closet to be offered in two auctions: an online auction on June 14–28, 2024, and a live sale in London on June 25.

Over 200 pieces spanning four decades will be up for bid in the two sales, each of which will mark an important turning point in Vivienne’s life and work. The presentation at Christie’s is stunning and features archival films, images, couture garments, t-shirts, accessories and shoes.
