Juergen Teller is famous for his casual celebrity photos, thought-provoking fashion editorials, and eye-catching advertising campaigns for fashion brands and magazine. The artist is the subject of a solo-exhibition at Grand Palais Ephemere in Paris titled “i need to live”. It’s dense and spans his entire career as a provocateur, photographer and thinker.
Since becoming well-known in London during the early 1990s as a photographer, Teller has also created significant series of deeply personal works in which he delves into his origins, family, identity, and self. Alongside campaigns he’s shot for brands such as Saint Laurent, Marc Jacobs, Vivienne Westwood and Loewe, i need to live features rare never-before-seen photographs, videos including a piece showing a blooming Kate Moss, and installation art.
“i need to live” honours human existence and gives visitors an opportunity to engage in the simple, realist style in which Teller responds to significant events in his life.
Redesigned for the spectacular Grand Palais Éphémère by the renowned 6a architects, the exhibition is organised by the Réunion des Musées Nationaux – Grand Palais with the support of Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello
