Jay-Jay Johanson for Balenciaga

The first album “Whisky” by Swedish singer-songwriter Jay-Jay Johanson, recorded in the Stockholm archipelago at Break My Heart Studios, wasn’t released until August 1996, despite the fact that he began writing songs as a youngster. Jay-Jay embarked on his first of many world tours after his debut album, which was instantly successful and featured jazzy vocals over hallucinogenic, and film noir sounds.

Swedish singer-songwriter Jay-Jay Johanson has created an original playlist and recreated an art project made with Christophe Brunnquell for Balenciaga Music. The mix is a collection of favourites, longtime influences, and new inspirations. Balenciaga Music artists are selected by Demna based on his personal tastes.

The series started with a mix by Demna himself, followed by collaborations with RuPaul, Aya Nakamura, Acid Arab, Pink Martini, and more.
