ANOHNI’s beauty and activism continue to grace this world. She has presented exhibitions of her visual work around the world including at The Hammer Museum, The Kitchen and Sikkema Jenkins Gallery in New York and soon at Serpentine as part of the Infinite Ecologies Marathon: The Prelude. She co-facilitated the art project FUTURE FEMINISM presented at The Hole, New York in 2014 and was part of ANOHNI’s artistic residency in Aarhus, European Capital of Culture in 2017.
Most recently, at the Amsterdam Museum, she recently presented SHE WHO SAW BEAUTIFUL THINGS, an installation featuring a series of portraits honouring ANOHNI’s former collaborator Dr. Julia Yasuda, taken by Julia’s late wife Erika Yasuda in Tokyo in the early 1980s, and exhibited at the museum for the first time (visual featured below).
Last July, ANOHNI and the Johnsons released ‘My Back Was A Bridge For You To Cross’ LP via Secretly Canadian and Rough Trade. The first single was ‘It Must Change’ and the music video was directed by Iain Forsyth & Jane Pollard stars Munroe Bergdorf. It’s another masterpiece.
