BUTT and Bottega Veneta is the perfect brand alignment.
BUTT magazine celebrates queers from all over the world through interviews and visuals printed on (non-Financial Times) pink paper. The handy pocket-size shaped magazine has published 32 issues providing a safe space for unapologetic LGBTQI+ people. From 2012-2021 BUTT took a hiatus from print, but BUTT is back, with three brand new issues since 2022. Creativity lies at the heart of Bottega Veneta and current artistic director Matthieu Blazy has brought contemporary art sensibility to the house like no one else before. The brand is currently the hottest in fashion right now. And for excellent reasons. Born in Vicenza, the house is rooted in Italian culture yet maintains a truly global outlook.
Launching its wild 32nd issue this week, BUTT will celebrate with an all-night party in London at the Institute of Contemporary Art on March 10th. From global stars Arca and Félix Maritaud, to activists and sex workers, the magazine is consistently combing queer conversations reflecting our times. In this new Issue 32, writer Eileen Myles gets off on poetry with Brontez Purnell; sex professional Sharok details his passion for pigeons, politics, and porn; Wolfgang Tillmans drops by hitmaker LSDXOXO’s flat for a quicky; singer Oliver Sim poses for drawings; Daisuke Nakashima snaps shirtless men in Tokyo; Czech tombstone engraver Roman Hanak graces the cover; and so much more.
To celebrate the launch of BUTT 32, the magazine is co-curating an overnight programme at the ICA on March 10th with the support of partner Bottega Veneta. The party will feature unmissable DJs and live acts – including Big Gay Idiot DJ (fka Total Freedom), TAHLIAAH, Evita Manji, Grace Sands and marum – and a selection of sexy shorts and erotica in the ICA cinema curated by Sam Ashby of Little Joe Magazine.
