teamLab is an international group of artists, programmers, architects, engineers, animators, and other specialists. Known for their multisensory, immersive work, teamLab explore the relationships between individuals and the natural world, encouraging new modes of perception through pioneering, technologically advanced installations. Their work is the pièce de résistance of the inspiring Moco Museum, an independent exhibition space located in the heart of Barcelona. The work features decomposing flowers with a nod to Van Gogh’s Sunflowers. It’s stunning and occupies a full immersive room.

Moco is located in a 16th Century palace on Montcada Street in the heart of Barcelona, neighbouring the renowned Picasso museum. It’s the second branch of the celebrated Amsterdam Museum and mixes the classical with the pioneering.

Palacio Cervelló is formerly the private residence of the noble Cervelló family who lived in this grand place until the 18th Century. The building embraces a mix of styles now fully renovated to the highest standards. It’s the perfect space for rotating exhibitions which examine modern and contemporary art history, the brainchild of super collectors and entrepreneurs Lionel and Kim Logchies, interested in “representing the voices of the street”. Their inaugural exhibition was curated by auctioneer and artworld star Simon de Pury.

This innovative museum features 15th Century traits including an interior courtyard hosting a spectacular installation by Cyril Lancelin a.k.a town.and.concrete titled Pyramid Connect, arched staircase with columns, a Gothic facade, and period moldings. From the Middle Ages to the 20th Century, aristocrats, merchants, and royals have held onto this historical site now hosting a fantastic collection of contemporary artworks, both famous and emerging names.

With works by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Banksy, Yayoi Kusama, KAWS, Keith Haring and Salvador Dalí among many other significant artists, Moco is a must-see in the Catalan capital.
